If souls choose their lives for growth, why would anyone choose abuse, illness, or tragedy?

“Because on some soul level, I had chosen it for the evolvement of myself. Now, my human cannot understand how an experience like being born into the family line that I've been born into, or being molested as a small child, could evolve me as a spirit. But today, I live in unwavering faith that everything is happening in divine right order. My soul has got it. It's not going to let any harm come to me.”15:50

“And this is an Earth School. We're all here for spiritual growth. And a lot of people do say, you know, "Why is there so much suffering in the world?" And why, why did I have to go through something so hard, so painful? And the answer is, it's all a part of your spiritual growth. It's the only way that you really will experience the most amount of your soul growing because all that I have gone through, and trust me, I've gone through it all. I can't believe how I have grown so much tremendously spiritually. And I know it would not have happened if I didn't go through all of my obstacles, you know. And I, I, I just, you always have to trust in God's will, no matter what, even in your darkest hour, there is light, always.”44:49

“So the relationships and the kind of reasons for different things happening can be so much clearer when we have that gigantic kind of whole life view of it all, and then things start to fall into place and make sense. You know, for many of us, the challenges and hardships in life, why me? Why did this thing happen to me? Well, it turns out when you have that much bigger perspective, you realize that often the challenges and hardships, illness, injury, what have you, were the great contributors to our soul growth. It was the challenges that led to our strengthening.”16:54

“I believe that the soul, our spirit, has a choice of stepping out and observing it so that person, the body, might be in a lot of pain and maybe that person is there experiencing that pain, maybe that's part of their choice or their life journey to do that.”2:05

“Going to the other side, I would like to say that that was the most exciting time in my life because I've never felt more peaceful or more wonderful or more grounded or more belonging.”17:50

“So he helped me realize that I chose that. We choose these experiences for soul growth. And the more challenging experiences help with our soul growth, right? But what unfortunately happens is that, um, because we're on a very dense plane here on the Earth plane, as the emotions are very, very strong, we can get, uh, stuck in that emotional, those emotions, that emotionally charged situation.”22:08

“is on a conscious level, we wouldn't choose the challenges that we have. We look at our lives and there is no way that that many of us would choose the challenges that we have on a conscious level. But on a spiritual level, there is no greater growth opportunity and awakening of the of the higher self and uh the moving forward of of the soul to endure the challenges and and yes, sometimes the burdens are very heavy. I I can attest to that as well. But when we observe those challenges through grace, we can see that”60:22

“So in regards to that, we choose everything. We choose our parents. We choose all the stuff that is going on in our lives, and the reason for that is for soul growth.”17:40

“It feeds our souls and the souls of others. Why else would we be here in this flimsy and imperfect place? Suffering exists to give us a chance to overcome and to grow. To create something beautiful out of something ugly is the ultimate gratification.”25:07

“And I've said this in videos. I know a lot of people spiritually or religiously like to talk about the good things. Don't get me wrong, I love talking about the good things. So for a soul to evolve spiritually, for a soul to evolve, if I had good blessings my entire life and then I died, would I evolve that way? I could evolve, and that's part of it if that's my journey. But you have to look at it from this point of view: there are also souls here that are having completely different lives, traumatic experiences. What does those lives serve a purpose?”9:49

“You know, all these things are soul choices, and it, and they're loving choices. They're always loving, whether we see them in that moment as that or not. A mother's love, we know how extreme that is, so, you know, we will choose those things, and so will all souls, because we're loving Beings, we're going to choose the most loving choice, whatever expands your soul the most, even if it seems traumatic to us here.”25:26

“go through that thing in order to get our soul's growth. Cuz if you look at it from the soul's point of view, the soul comes in and it already has something picked out. This lifetime I'm my growth is going to be this. It's very clear before you know, the soul is even born. So, So like your soul is just on that one track of like okay, this is the growth I want and these are the incidents that are going to give me that growth. So when I started seeing it from that viewpoint, I was like oh okay great. Like I got my soul's growth. This”38:04

“And then when I began to understand that I was like, 'Oh man, so many things made sense.' You know, especially because one of the things I had, the problem I had with God, as you know, some dude sitting up there on the throne, was like, 'How could you let terrible things happen to children? How can you allow these things to happen? People suffering, starving?' Then when I understood that free will is paramount on that level, and that individual, no matter how difficult their experience, they knew that they were going to have that experience and they chose that experience because something about that terrible experience enriches the longevity of their soul. So it's worth these moments of some terrible experience because we need to learn something.”43:14

“I mean, like it it's because great souls have um a deep desire to serve and a great capacity for experience. They tend to come in with more awareness. They tend to come in with more sensitivity. They tend to come into roles into families where they can actually help and serve. This is all about love. It's not just about pain. It's about undoing pain, actually. So, a great being has more opportunity to undo pain, you could say. >> You mentioned choice. We're never forced to have a lifetime, are we?”52:04

“We are here to evolve as spiritual beings and to undergo certain experiences. I remember things from before and during my birth. I recall choosing my parents based on their personalities and kindness. On some level, I believe I chose to have asthma to prevent myself from repeating the mistakes of a past life. It's possible that I chose my near-death experience to keep myself aware of the purpose behind my existence.”5:56
