Do people come back from NDEs struggling and depressed because they miss the peace of the other side?

“In addition, NDEers reported miscellaneous issues such as trying to figure out their purpose after coming back or dealing with an intense desire to go back home to the non-physical realm they experienced during the NDE.”16:06

“And even the people that have positive NDEs have PTSD because when you're in that bliss and that beauty and that home, heaven is home, and when you get out of there, you are so freaking homesick, it doesn't go away.”17:43

“So, the NDE-ers, they come back, and from an emotional state, it's hard for them because they long for all the blissful states that they have experienced, but they don't realize that actually those blissful states are not what is important. Important is that they do their best in this life to get a good life result, to be able to return to those blissful states that they have experienced, because those blissful experiences are just the results of their lives up to them.”18:28

“Do NDEs intensify the sense of longing that most people feel in their lives?”0:19

“Because a lot of NDErs just can't wait to go back; they had such glorious experiences over there, they can't wait to leave the Earth again and go back; they pine for it.”23:29

“So coming back could be very difficult. People say when they get back into their body, if they were injured in an accident or, you know, something going on in the hospital, immediately all the pain returns. It's very difficult, just being back in your body. They say it's restrictive. They don't like the heavy feeling of gravity, but they eventually get used to it. And most adjust pretty well. Most, I would say, some get depressed. Most do not get depressed because when you're in Heaven, when you have that near-death experience, or even an out-of-body experience, Melissa, like you had, where you just feel that incredible love, it transforms you, and you come back with a renewed love, filled up with love for your fellow man.”30:30

“One of the things that can be difficult to talk about as an NDEer is there is a time, and it happened to me, it happened to me about two years ago, where you go into a feeling of depression almost because that longing to be a part of that connection is so strong, and everything in your life just pales in comparison.”21:35

“And also reintegration. So a lot of NDEs, as you know, have a hard time, you know, as wonderful, a lot of the time as the experience is, a lot of NDEs have a hard time reintegrating into the body.”19:49

“One thing that happens with many people who have an NDE is that when they come back,”24:25

“So let's look at what NDEs teach about how the other side suggests we live. When near-death experiencers are told they must come back here, it often makes no sense to us. Why go back to a broken body when here, in heaven, it's so loving, so perfect?”6:47

“One of the things that I hear is quite common with people who have NDEs is not wanting to be here on the planet. And I certainly had a lot of what we call suicidal ideation, fantasizing about suicide. Now, I wouldn't do that; it would create too much pain for too many people, even if I was happy with the result. It's not worth all that pain for others. So, but I do, even today, how many years, almost 60 years later, fantasize about not being here anymore because here can be very challenging. Here, I'm an empath. I literally have felt other people's. That's why I can do the readings, because it's all kind of connected, and I think it all goes back to the NDEs. I have literally felt other people's pain in my body, which is not fun until you learn how to process that input. Um, it was very challenging for me, even today, with all the shifts that are going on in the planet, even though I know that I'm only going to feel things as if they're mine, if there's part inside of me that is also, for instance, there's a lot of people depressed right now, and they go in and out of depression and frustration.”92:33

“But yeah, this just went on. Uh, there's so many layers to this experience. I remember, I remember just being so relieved. And you know, if I had to sum up the whole NDE in three words, it'd be very simple, actually. And what it would be is, 'Welcome home, deary.' I had, I have had—I felt like a solitary life. You know, I had a mom that loved me and got me. And I have children, you know, in their 40s now. But as far as family of origin, when my mom died, that was it. So I had felt so lonely for so long. But being in this experience, I found my tribe. And they're on the other side. And they just surrounded me. And it was—they were talking. They were all like, 'A great reunion. 'Like, 'There you are. Look at you.' And they said, they said, 'That was a hard one. Those 59 years you had. That was a hard one. But look at you now. You're back. You're with us.' And I'm so grateful I got to keep that memory. Because there's an old African-American spiritual that I just cherish: 'The earth is not my home, I'm just a passing through.' And that's so completely true. I have a friend who's also had an NDE, a remarkable NDE. And she says she calls this the insane asylum, like the Earth. And if you're enlightened, if you feel like you're seeing things that other people don't see and understanding things that other people don't understand, man, it's a hard path. But yeah, it was literally welcome home, deary. And I just didn't want to go back. And a lot of people ask, did you see people have gone before? Not that I remember.”14:44

“Following my NDE, I'd be lying if I said the transition back into everyday life has been easy. You know, I grew up without any spiritual or religious beliefs, and following this experience, I've had to question everything I thought to be true about life and death.”14:38

“While every NDE is different, one of the commonalities is that experiencers come back changed and their lives going forward reflect that change.”0:19

“Now, it's pretty standard, which you probably are aware of, a very common theme in the NDE event and culture is that it takes about seven years for most people's spirit and mind to settle within their body fully. And a high percentage of NDE experience divorce and career changes and all kinds of upsetting things because, again, they can't relate to the regular world anymore. It can't relate to them either. And so it takes about seven years to adjust to that. And this is because, as PM at Water described very well in her book, in NDE, that it takes about seven years for your body to stabilize your soul, but stabilize back within your body.”30:51
