The Near Death Experience of Mr. Charles Büttner

The Story
Mr. Charles Büttner, aged 22, had a near-death experience during a suicide attempt. He took sleeping pills and alcohol after a life crisis involving his mother's death from Alzheimer's, a breakup, and work problems. During the experience, he heard a loud pleasant ringing that quieted. He saw a yellow light in the distance and felt drawn to it as home. He left his body and moved toward the light through a brightly lit tunnel with pleasant rays. He saw other people entering the tunnel. A tall being in a white robe with blonde hair and a sword blocked his path. The being told him to go back because he had more to do and warned him about next time. He felt sad watching others enter the light. On the way back, he saw a dark hall with space and Earth, and motionless people waiting who had succeeded in suicide. He viewed himself as a dirty creature compared to the perfect being, which felt like his future self. He returned to his body in pain and had his stomach pumped. After the NDE, Büttner became more serious and enjoyed solitude. He changed careers, worked with the disabled, retrained as a technical draftsman, did volunteer work for seniors and terminal care, retired early at 60, and now takes walks, reads poems, and sings. He believes suicide does not solve problems.
“and I felt like I had my back to the wall, what was it what I should have done ....,”
This NDE account contains no veridical perception claims about physical events, people, or objects in the real world, featuring only common subjective elements like a tunnel, light, and spiritual beings. Despite a severely compromised medical state from overdose-induced unconsciousness, the complete lack of specific, verifiable details, verification attempts, or documented prior reporting results in minimal evidential strength.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
