The Story
Pastor Bill Goodwin, a 28-year-old youth pastor, suffered a severe asthma attack on November 23, 1999, while driving to work. He returned home, used a nebulizer, and called 911. Paramedics arrived, placed a mask on him, and he blacked out after three minutes and 20 seconds. During the NDE, flashes of his life passed before him. He thought he was dying and felt his spirit leave his body. He saw thousands of beautiful angels in a glorious, bright light. The angels parted, and Jesus approached in a white robe with arms outstretched. Bill said, 'Take care of Carla,' his wife. Jesus replied, 'No, it's not your time. I will increase your anointing.' The angels closed in, and the light surrounded him with no sense of time. After waking in the ICU nine and a half hours later, Bill lost his fear of death. He gained passion for ministry, became lead pastor of his church, and shares his story to encourage faith and hope in others, especially during funerals.
