The Story
Belinda Carter was a 17-year-old high school senior walking to her summer job in Ellsworth, Maine, in July 1968. An 86-year-old driver hit her after swerving off the road, causing severe injuries. She was pronounced dead and taken to the morgue. During the NDE, Belinda instantly entered a beautiful white light filled with love and peace. She floated above and saw her body on the ground surrounded by people. She recognized it as herself but chose to return to the light, where time did not exist and she felt wonderful. She did not want to leave. After the NDE, Belinda woke in the morgue, endured multiple blackouts, and spent time in the hospital with intense pain and head injuries. She had brain surgery in 1969. She became a nurse in 1978 and now shares her story with patients to ease fears of death. She senses life differently and has no fear of dying.
