The Story
In 1971, a woman rafting on the Chattahoochee River in Northern Georgia experienced a near-death event. Her raft flipped in rapids and got stuck in a hydraulic. She got trapped underwater, chose to let go, and drowned. She rose 100 feet above the river and watched her husband and others search for her. She tried to stop her husband from jumping in, but her hand passed through him. She realized she was dead and felt her consciousness expand to see the multi-dimensional universe and profound love. A being of light guided her through a vortex to a white light. She entered a higher reality with colorful landscapes, crystal buildings, and light beings who create and live without struggles. The being told her she had more to do on Earth and offered knowledge if she returned. She visited a tall hall of knowledge, flew through millions of books, and absorbed information in a burst of colors. She popped out of the water downriver, grabbed a rock, and coughed up water. She recovered in shock without medical attention. She returned with knowledge to share with others.
The NDE includes an OBE with moderately specific observations from an impossible vantage point during unconscious drowning, but evidential strength is low due to completely absent verification, predictable rescue behaviors, and no timing of report.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Was this Evidence Strength score useful?
Was this Experience Depth score useful?
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Was this Life Impact score useful?
