The Story
Reverend Peter Panigor experienced a near-death experience in 1980 due to advanced hypothermia during an ice climbing accident on the Lower Weeping Wall in Alberta, Canada. He fought sleep on a narrow ledge while rappelling down. As he fell asleep, infinite darkness pulled him out of his body like a vacuum. He entered a greater darkness and approached a gigantic translucent door with a living tunnel. God called his true name, making him feel completely known and filled with unified love, hope, beauty, joy, and truth. He then relived all pain he caused others from their perspectives, felt his justifications, and received God's forgiveness. Back in the loving presence, God confirmed he was dead but showed Earth's suffering and eternal love for all, including his family. Peter chose to return to fulfill commitments, but God said he would not live his own life. He awoke disoriented in his body and descended safely. After the NDE, Peter knows God is real without faith. He feels attached to the other side, disoriented here, and pursues divine connection daily. He shares his story through his ministry and upcoming book to comfort the dying, though he regrets returning and prayed for death for decades.
“or the love of god and god said you know that that's true and i knew”
This NDE features a severe hypothermic unconsciousness but lacks any veridical perceptions of the physical world, such as OBE observations of events or details verifiable later. All experiences are internal spiritual encounters with no specific, unpredictable details from the external environment. No verification attempts or corroborated claims are reported, resulting in minimal evidential strength.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
These accounts were gathered because death may not be the end. Thousands of people have experienced something beyond — and come back to tell us about it.
