The Story
The person was watching a nature documentary when they first saw a chameleon. This event triggered their fascination and desire to own one. During the experience, they were amazed by the chameleon's ability to change color from green to brown. They spent years searching in zoos and pet stores. They finally purchased a small, pale baby male veiled chameleon at a local pet shop. They named it Ziggy and set up a terrarium with branches, fake plants, proper temperature, and humidity. Ziggy was shy at first, hiding under leaves, but soon came out to sit on a branch and watch them. He puffed up and showed his dewlap. The person fed him a cricket by hand using tweezers. Ziggy's eyes moved independently, and his long sticky tongue shot out quickly to catch it. They laughed at the speed. After this, the person loved watching Ziggy as their little green friend. He taught them patience and observation. Ziggy became a very special pet.
This transcript recounts a everyday pet chameleon ownership story with no reference to any near-death event, medical crisis, unconsciousness, out-of-body experience, or veridical perceptions. All criteria score minimally due to complete absence of relevant NDE elements.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
These accounts were gathered because death may not be the end. Thousands of people have experienced something beyond — and come back to tell us about it.
