The Story
Nestro Yan Mole, a former US Army Ranger, broke his neck when he dove headfirst from a water slide into a shallow two-foot-deep lake during a party in North Carolina. This caused severe pain, partial paralysis, and required emergency neck surgery the next day. During the surgery, he left his body and stood at a floating doorway in space surrounded by darkness and distant stars. He met six tall, wise beings of light who emanated peaceful energy. They held a long conversation about his life and purpose, which he mostly does not remember due to an agreement. The beings instructed him to do important work without obsessing over the details. He then moved back through a tunnel as a spinning rainbow energy form and reunited with his body. He woke up able to move his hands and feet, avoiding full paralysis. After recovery, Nestro began sewing a tapestry inspired by the beings' visions, depicting a grand interconnected tapestry of all lives. He remembered a past life as a Buddhist monk named Nimoli and traveled to Sri Lanka to reconnect with that life, meeting a monk who recognized him from then. Now living in Costa Rica as a monk, he shares messages of hope, peace through meditation and nature, and humanity's role in healing the planet.
