The Story
Mark Nelson was a 36-year-old man living a homosexual lifestyle when he was diagnosed with advanced AIDS in February 2008. He entered a coma due to severe illness and organ failure. During the coma, on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008, he flatlined after pulling out his breathing tube. He left his body and saw staff resuscitating him. He entered a dark space and moved toward a light. He reviewed his past sins, including drugs, alcohol, and sexual activities, and felt deep conviction. The light vanished, leaving him in darkness with cries for help and demonic attacks on his soul. He cried out to Jesus in repentance and heard, 'I'm here.' His soul returned to his body as the Holy Spirit removed the demons. After the NDE, Mark healed miraculously from AIDS and organ failures. Same-sex attractions ended. He married Beth, his friend, in November 2008. They foster children and serve in ministry to help people overcome sexual sin, living committed to God.
“but but i knew i knew again i was i was was between good and evil life and death”
The account features a severe medical crisis with 22 minutes of clinical death and a brief out-of-body perception of resuscitation efforts, partially corroborated by the father's presence and emotional reaction. However, the perceptual details are vague and predictable, lacking specificity, independent verification, or timely reporting, which limits evidential strength.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
