The Story
Sheree Carol was a woman in her 30s struggling with a seven-year heroin addiction after injuring herself in the oil fields. The addiction led to gangrene in her arm from injecting the drug. During surgery to treat the gangrene, her heart stopped, causing her NDE. She heard the heart monitor alarming and the doctor yelling they were losing her. She floated above her body and saw the medical team using paddles on her chest. A beautiful tunnel of lights appeared, and she entered it, feeling no pain and pure joy. She met her deceased grandfather and hugged him. She approached a brilliant light she knew was Jesus. They communicated without words; she apologized for her mistakes, but Jesus reassured her she was good and one of his. She wanted to stay, but Jesus showed her a vision of her grieving family and an obituary labeling her a drug death. She asked to return to prove herself and promised never to use drugs again. She fell back into her body and revived. After the NDE, Sheree quit drugs cold turkey and never used again. She left her addict partner, got a roommate, and worked at a children's center. She returned to college, became a microbiology and physiology assistant, had writings published, made the honor roll, and managed a Denny's. She raised her daughters alone with family help and shared her story after 33 years to inspire addicts and grieving families.
“never felt the need I never felt the need to forgive the person you know I”
The account features a strong medical crisis with clinical death and a classic out-of-body perception of resuscitation efforts, including specific details like the doctor's shout and defibrillator use. However, evidential strength is limited by the complete absence of any verification attempts or confirmations of the perceptions, typicality of the described events, and primary reporting only to a few skeptics shortly after with public disclosure 33 years later.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
