The Story
Kelvin Chin was a 21-year-old university student who almost drowned in 1972. He swam in the Pacific Ocean in San Diego, California, with a friend and got caught in a rip current. The current pulled him far out to sea. He panicked and tried to swim back but grew exhausted and sank about 4 to 5 feet underwater. His mind left his body. He recognized this from his two years of meditation practice. He willed his mind back into his body and struggled to the surface. After the NDE, Kelvin began teaching meditation a year later. He studied with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and taught worldwide for over 50 years. He credits meditation with saving his life and reducing his stress. Past life memories later opened up, giving him mental strength for difficult times.
“time and then come back to heaven the that come back fairly soon so it's it”
This NDE account lacks any veridical perception claims, featuring only a subjective out-of-body experience without descriptions of external observations, specific details, or verifications. The experiencer was in a severe drowning scenario with compromised consciousness, but no impossible perceptual access or corroborated elements are reported. Past life memories are mentioned separately but do not qualify as NDE veridical perceptions.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
