Mira Sai: Reborn within an NDE
What Researchers Found
The Story
Mira Sai, formerly Aarti, was a successful financial advisor in California. In 1994, a car accident caused her NDE when she drove her Mercedes into another car after pressing the accelerator instead of the brake. During the NDE, she saw herself in a river of light inside her body and exited through her head into a comforting void. A golden boat carried her dead body to her; she boarded and shot into brilliant light, feeling at home and jumping with joy. She learned the world is a mind-created illusion. Her old self's atoms left while new finer ones entered, causing a soul transmutation with universal knowings pouring in, leading to oneness with supreme consciousness. She saw herself as a fetus in a cosmic cord and was told to return to do work. After the NDE, she abandoned her wealthy life, moved to Sai Baba's ashram for five years, and embraced a spiritual path of love and devotion, authoring a book of poetry called 'Ecstasy.'
“it is love love love God love it is God it was God God is love God is love love”
This NDE lacks any veridical perception claims, featuring only internal spiritual experiences like light, void, soul transmutation, and oneness without observations of real-world events. No impossible sensory access, specific verifiable details, or verifications are described, limiting evidential strength despite a severe accident-induced unconsciousness.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
These accounts were gathered because death may not be the end. Thousands of people have experienced something beyond — and come back to tell us about it.
