The Story
A 14-year-old boy experienced a near-death event in 1971 while working as a lifeguard at a Boy Scout summer camp. He jumped into the lake to save a struggling 13-year-old swimmer, got hit on the head, sank, and inhaled water, leading to drowning. During the experience, he floated out of his body and observed the scene from above. He was pulled into space, then entered a dark void where a mocking skull and evil entities attacked him. He called on Jesus, and they retreated. He saw colorful soap bubbles leading to a life review, where he felt the pain he caused others. A guardian angel explained self-judgment. In a bright light, he met a robed figure offering overwhelming love and peace. He viewed mankind's future destruction and was told to spread a message of change. He declined enhanced powers to stay normal and saw visions of his future three children, one miscarried. He was sent back to his body. After returning, his paranormal abilities lessened, allowing normalcy. His views on religion shifted to see it as a path to a divine plan. He married a woman he instantly recognized, had two children, and one miscarriage as foreseen. He learned actions impact others, good and evil exist, souls are eternal, and humanity must change to avoid destruction.

The account describes a severe drowning incident leading to unconsciousness and an OBE from an impossible vantage point 50 feet above the scene, but the perceived details are vague and predictable elements of the known rescue situation with no attempt at verification or documented early reporting, resulting in low evidential strength.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
