Dr. Ritchie's NDE: Dr. Moody's Inspiration

The Story
George Ritchie, a 20-year-old U.S. Army private in 1943, had a near-death experience from double lobar pneumonia that caused his clinical death. He left his body in the hospital and tried to travel to Richmond, but realized he was dead when he could not interact with the physical world. He searched for his body, then met a being of light he recognized as Jesus, who showed him a full life review and asked what he did with his life. Jesus took him to hellish realms where frustrated, disembodied spirits fought and craved earthly vices without satisfaction. They visited a realm of selfless learning and research with hooded scholars. Ritchie glimpsed a radiant heavenly city of loving beings. Jesus revealed two future paths for humanity—one of destruction, one of peace—and ordered Ritchie to return with 45 years to share love. After reviving, Ritchie pursued medicine, became a psychiatrist and author, and inspired the modern NDE movement through his books and lectures, transforming his life with deep spirituality and purpose.

Exceptional medical crisis with clinical death and highly implausible remote perceptual access to another city during OBE, featuring specific and unpredictable details like a unique cafe sign. However, evidential strength is capped by absence of self-reported verification attempts, confirmed verifications, or details on timely reporting.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
