Atheist Engineer Unexpectedly Leaves Body; Develops Scientific Understanding Of The Afterlife (NDE)

The Story
An engineer woman skeptical of the afterlife attended a meditation retreat in Gredos, Spain, on April 5, 2015. During a Tantra breathing exercise to overcome fear of death, she experienced a syncope from vagus nerve clamping, causing a brief cardio-respiratory arrest. She felt propelled upward at immense speed into a white light that became multi-colored. She entered a perfect world of ecstasy, unity, and love, where she saw beautiful people including her mother and two children, feeling completely at home. A force pulled her back into darkness; she heard 'come back' and struggled against pressure and negative emotions during re-entry. She woke on the floor as others revived her. After the NDE, she gained belief in an afterlife, faced her father's death with serenity, and heard a certain inner voice. She researched NDEs, shared her story publicly, and viewed earthly life as a dense, dream-like illusion compared to the hyper-real other side, emphasizing intention, humility, and non-judgment.
“you come back because when you come back I don't know what to call it a dimension”
This NDE lacks any veridical perceptions of the physical world during unconsciousness, featuring only internal spiritual visions and expected auditory cues upon revival in a group setting. No corroborated impossible knowledge or specific verifiable details from an inaccessible vantage point limit its evidential strength.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
These accounts were gathered because death may not be the end. Thousands of people have experienced something beyond — and come back to tell us about it.
