The Story
Neilson was involved in a car accident while driving back from a lecture. He suddenly found himself in a void with absolute silence. In this void, he felt a comforting presence and saw a figure of light, which he recognized as his grandmother. She smiled at him, bringing him peace. He then experienced another presence, which was his father-in-law, who also smiled at him. Neilson felt confused but calm. He had several flashes of reality, realizing he was in an accident and being rescued. After the NDE, he felt a new understanding of life and death. He no longer feared death and felt a strong connection to his family, realizing he could choose to stay or go without obligation.
