The Story
The experiencer was a six or seven-year-old child who nearly drowned at a swimming hole. During the drowning, they felt a sense of unity consciousness and observed their surroundings from both underwater and above the water. They surrendered to the experience and felt a deep love for their environment. A voice asked what they wanted to do, and they thought about their mother, realizing it would hurt her if they died. A woman, who was never identified by others, saved them and brought them back to the surface. After the experience, the child felt a new understanding of death and a lack of fear surrounding it. They developed a desire to experience life fully and have many different experiences, feeling a connection to a greater source.
