Robert Kopecky: How to Survive Life and Death
What Researchers Found
The Story
Robert Kopecky, an illustrator and author, had three near-death experiences over 15 years. The first was caused by a car accident. The second resulted from a self-destructive lifestyle leading to collapse. The third occurred after an assault by Skinheads who beat him unconscious. During the first NDE, he left his body, saw himself loaded into an ambulance, and went to a heavenly place for an interview lasting a day. In the second, a brilliant white cloud enveloped him, and he had a life review of key life episodes, learning the value of the eternal moment. In the third, he was in a dark, warm space with entities who said he had done things wrong and must return to fulfill his purpose; they pushed him through a membrane back to his body on the street. After these experiences, Kopecky studied spirituality, meditated, and wrote books on NDEs. He gained insights into perspective, presence, and purpose, leading to a life of service, radical kindness, forgiveness, and surrender.

The account describes three NDEs with some out-of-body elements and severe unconsciousness, but lacks any specific, verifiable perceptions of external events. Vague claims like seeing oneself loaded into an ambulance or sensing violence provide no unique details or verification, limiting evidential strength.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
