The Story
Howard Storm was a 38-year-old art professor and atheist. In 1985, he suffered a perforation of the duodenum while leading an art tour in Paris, France. The severe pain led to his death after hours of waiting for surgery. During the NDE, he left his body and felt wonderful but saw his lifeless form on the bed. He followed calling voices into darkness, where beings attacked and tormented him. A voice urged him to pray, so he recited childhood prayers, driving the beings away. He called to Jesus, who appeared in bright light, healed him, and carried him to heaven. There, Jesus and angels showed him a life review of his hurtful actions. He asked many questions and learned truths. Jesus sent him back to Earth. After the NDE, Storm became a Christian pastor for 30 years, wrote books, and focused on loving others to change the world.
“life i knew that when you're dead you're and i think a lot of people believe that”
The account features a severe medical crisis leading to unconsciousness, providing moderate evidential foundation, but is undermined by the complete absence of specific, verifiable veridical perceptions during the OBE. Perceptions are limited to vague, predictable observations of his own body, wife, and roommate in the hospital room, with no attempts at verification or corroborated details. This results in low evidential strength due to lack of precision, unpredictability, and supporting evidence.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
