I died and had all my questions answered - NDE Interview Rachel
What Researchers Found
The Story
Rachel was a college student in her early 20s who attempted suicide by overdosing on Xanax and blood pressure medication after a fight with her abusive boyfriend. This followed years of trauma including a difficult childhood, sexual assault, and mental health struggles. During her NDE, she blacked out and awoke in a vast field with a neon blue sky, vibrant flowers, a body of water, and a massive tree. A voice like millions speaking in unison asked her to seek knowledge. She learned what makes a good person by seeing how her negative words to a classmate created a ripple of harm to seven others, then the positive ripple of kindness. Curious about badness, she entered a dark pit feeling deep depression, surrounded by silent, gray, naked souls, including a screaming child. She returned to her body in the hospital. After the NDE, Rachel entered rehab and gained a new perspective on empathy and self-love. She now conducts interviews on NDEs, helps others with grief and mental health, embraces pantheism, and focuses on positive impacts in relationships, feeling spiritually wiser and more compassionate.
“couple hours of my life my soul life so to say but like when I came back from”
This NDE contains no veridical perception claims of external events inaccessible to normal senses; the experience is entirely subjective, consisting of a spiritual field, telepathic lessons on personal interactions, and a vision of a 'bad person' realm. Despite severe overdose-induced unconsciousness, the lack of any specific, verifiable perceptions limits evidential strength.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Was this Evidence Strength score useful?
Was this Experience Depth score useful?
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Was this Life Impact score useful?
