The Story
Jeff Roods experienced a near-death event about 20 years ago. He attempted suicide alone in his apartment by taking 62 antihistamine pills and handfuls of painkillers. The overdose caused hallucinations and unconsciousness. During the NDE, Jeff saw a black dot expand into a Grim Reaper-like figure with cracked skin and black eye holes. They conversed telepathically as friends. Death pointed at him, transporting him to a bright white place filled with love. A blurred figure in a white robe, possibly Jesus-like, joined him. They viewed Jeff's smiling self in a colorful bubble and felt connected as three parts. They flew over a warm field smelling of wet grass, then Jeff joined a blurred-faced party in medieval clothes in a forest clearing. Alone, he flew faster into a gray-blue horizon. After the NDE, Jeff initially dismissed it as a hallucination due to skepticism. He sought depression treatment, but the experience subtly helped. Over years, he accepted it, embraced life's joy, and lived fully, avoiding dangers. He encourages others to live despite hardship and notes no hell for suicide, only pain to loved ones.
