The Story
Karen Wilkinson had a near-death experience during major back surgery six years ago. An anesthesiologist mistakenly gave her a paralytic through her IV before monitoring began, causing her to stop breathing and feel like she was drowning. She heard a double voice say it was okay to let go. She left her body and felt immense love and peace. She floated above her body, saw nurses and the doctor preparing, viewed through walls, and watched the team notice she was not breathing. They bagged her, but it failed until a second anesthesiologist intubated her. She felt the tube and returned to her body when breathing resumed. In recovery, two young men in scrubs appeared at her bed, emanating love and calming her pain and fear. They accompanied her to ICU, but her family and nurses saw no one. After the NDE, Karen overcame PTSD from the trauma and lifelong alien abductions. She deepened her faith in Jesus, which stopped the abductions. She now shares her story in a book to help others know life continues after death.

The account describes a severe medical crisis with respiratory arrest and resuscitation during surgery, along with specific OBE perceptions of OR events, dialogues, and actions from an impossible vantage point including through walls. However, evidential strength is limited by the complete absence of any self-reported verification attempts, confirmed accuracies, or documented timely reporting to witnesses.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
