Susan Walter - Susan's Near-Death Experience as a Young Child
What Researchers Found
The Story
The person, a child from rural Iowa, had two near-death experiences due to severe illnesses. The first occurred at age four when she was bedridden and examined by a doctor. The second happened at age six, also involving hospitalization. During the first NDE, she floated above her body and overheard her parents and doctor discussing her treatment. She then entered a beautiful garden with green grass, animals, and massive trees. Three glowing beings greeted her. They showed her the world through animals' eyes, progressing from small creatures to flying, swimming in oceans, and then in space. She saw a bright area birthing souls. Pulled aside with two others, she was offered to become a planet creator but declined and returned to the hospital. The second NDE started similarly in the garden with the same beings. She asked questions about God's day and their origins, seeing a tall structure with layered energies. She revisited the animal experiences and planet creator offer before waking up. She startled her grandmother by asking about additional pyramids at Giza, knowledge gained from the experience. After these NDEs, she saw angels constantly, including others'. In 1997, as a mother, she began drawing and painting angels using pastels and colored pencils, despite no prior skills. She now creates detailed angel art, conducts crystal singing bowl meditations, and has produced 81 mandalas based on sacred frequencies. She continues researching and learning about the world.
The primary veridical claim involves an OBE observation of a doctor's conversation with parents in the next room about specific hospital options, which is somewhat specific and from an impossible vantage but lacks any verification, prompt reporting, or confirmed details. A secondary anomalous knowledge claim about additional Giza pyramids is intriguing but vaguely linked to the NDE, unverified at the time, and not a clear perceptual observation. Low verification across all claims limits evidential strength.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
