The Story
Mary Jo Rapini was a licensed therapist specializing in psycho-oncology and sex therapy. She experienced her NDE after a brain aneurysm ruptured while working out at the gym, causing a severe bleed in her head. She collapsed, was rushed to the hospital, and needed emergency surgery. During the NDE, before the surgery, she saw a white light in the corner of her room. She moved upright into it and saw her body on the bed with her husband crying nearby. She entered a luminescent pinkish space without walls and felt God holding her. God told her it was not her time. She listed her good deeds, but God asked if she had ever loved others as she was loved there. God said she could do better. After the surgery, Rapini felt depressed for months about returning to life. She now questions if she does enough to show God's goodness. She became a better therapist with more compassion and less judgment. She sees abundance everywhere and focuses on helping others.
“god a loving God especially so now on to my story I'm carrying that in my heart”
Strong medical crisis with brain hemorrhage and surgery provides high severity, but evidential value is limited by a single OBE perception of her husband's predictable emotional state and consent form in the same room, lacking explicit verification, unpredictability, or prior reporting.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
