Empath Suzie Gowie

The Story
Susie Gowdy, a pastor and chaplain, had two near-death experiences. The first occurred when she was four years old at a military base pool. She tried to float in a device like older children but nearly drowned. During this NDE, she felt surrounded by a bright, sparkly light and experienced deep peace with no fear. The second happened as an adult when she became severely ill and lay in a hospital bed in great pain. She prayed for relief or death and asked for a sign. She then felt lifted from the bed, held in a warm embrace, and suspended above it, feeling peaceful and content. After the childhood NDE, Susie lost all fear of water and became a water safety instructor for the military. She also never feared death from that point. Both experiences reinforced her lifelong call to ministry, helping her connect with others as an empath and caregiver. She treasured these events and shared them sparingly.
“from that moment on I was never afraid to die um my other experience was as an”
The two NDEs described lack any veridical perception claims, such as observations of external events from an out-of-body perspective. While medical crises suggest compromised brain function, no specific, verified, or impossible perceptions are reported, limiting evidential strength.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
These accounts were gathered because death may not be the end. Thousands of people have experienced something beyond — and come back to tell us about it.
