Lee Lawrence: How an NDE derailed a CPA

The Story
Lee Lawrence was a certified public accountant who contracted meningitis in 1988. The severe pain and pressure in his skull led to hospitalization and a spinal tap, during which he left his body. He entered a dark layer with misshapen beings but felt no fear due to a beam of profound love and light. He saw golden egg-shaped beings, communicated with them through thoughts, and experienced oneness. He asked for help and sensed it was provided, then returned to his body. After the NDE, Lawrence lost his logical thinking and became emotional, unable to perform his CPA work. He developed psychic abilities to read thoughts and view lives in reverse. This led to burnout, a career shift to studying psychology and neuroscience, and becoming a medical psychological intuitive. His relationships suffered, resulting in divorce, and he gained a new sense of spiritual wholeness and purpose to help others.
“back in. When I came back in after my experience, I do a lot of work with”
This NDE features a severe medical crisis (meningitis with prolonged unconsciousness) but lacks any veridical perceptions of the physical world, reporting only internal spiritual encounters with beings and light. No specific, verifiable details from an impossible vantage point are described, resulting in minimal evidential strength.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
These accounts were gathered because death may not be the end. Thousands of people have experienced something beyond — and come back to tell us about it.
