The Story
Ben Breedlove was an 18-year-old with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. On December 6, 2011, he suffered cardiac arrest at school after passing out, which triggered his near-death experience. During the NDE, Ben entered a peaceful white room with no walls or sounds. He wore a nice suit and stood next to his favorite rapper, Kid Cudi, who also wore a suit. They looked in a mirror, and Ben felt proud of his entire life and smiled continuously. Kid Cudi placed a hand on Ben's shoulder as the song 'Mr. Rager' played, with lyrics asking when heaven would begin. Kid Cudi told Ben to go. Ben then woke up to EMS performing CPR on him. After the NDE, Ben cherished the peaceful feeling and believed in angels and God. He shared his story to express acceptance of his condition and pride in his life.
The account includes perceptions during cardiac arrest with specific dialogue, but these could be accessed via normal senses from the experiencer's position without indication of unconsciousness at that moment. No verification attempts or confirmations are reported, and details are predictable for a known defibrillation procedure, resulting in moderate evidential strength.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
