Rescue by a Being of Light - an interview with Mr. Charles Martin

The Story
Charles was a four-year-old boy in Basel, Switzerland, in 1964. His mother took him to a park for a picnic. A young man kidnapped him while his mother talked to someone else. The man biked Charles into the forest, then walked deeper into the undergrowth. He spread a blanket, removed Charles's clothes, and threatened him. When the man left to get ointment, Charles heard a voice from behind say, 'Charlie, get up, run.' Charles ran naked and saw a bright light near the forest floor to his right. The warm voice urged him to keep running three or four times when he slowed. The light stayed in place as he changed direction. He felt surrounded by love and authority. Charles emerged from the forest and reunited with his mother and helpers. The experience convinced Charles that a guardian watches over him. It helped him survive abuse in a cold Christian children's home after his mother's schizophrenia led to her institutionalization. He separates human cruelty from divine protection. He prays often and believes in life after death and life's purpose.
“mother and I my father in fact had died when they did take place then came this”
This account describes a conscious child's perception of a guiding voice and light during a kidnapping attempt, lacking any medical crisis, impossible sensory access, verifiable details, or confirmation by others. No elements were checked against external sources, and the experience was not shared promptly, limiting evidential value. Primary constraints are absence of verification and non-clinical context.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
These accounts were gathered because death may not be the end. Thousands of people have experienced something beyond — and come back to tell us about it.
