The Story
Laurie experienced her near-death experience on December 3, 2017, due to toxic mold exposure. She had lived in a mobile home with multiple water leaks, which made her increasingly ill. Doctors could not diagnose her at first. She moved to a motel and then a condo, but both places had mold. While very sick and sleeping at the motel, she died. During the NDE, Laurie entered a black void that felt like thick oil or velvet. She did not need to breathe. She wondered where she was and knew she was no longer on Earth. Then she heard a voice say, 'Wake up.' She woke up and thought the experience was real and not good. After the NDE, Laurie sought medical help. She was briefly committed to a psychiatric ward but was released after confirmation of mold illness. She received a diagnosis and a letter restricting her from moldy buildings. She researched near-death experiences online, found a video, and joined the support group, where she felt happy to connect with others.
“like felt like oil i didn't i knew i um and it felt like black oil or black”
The sole NDE reported lacks any veridical perception claims, featuring only a brief, subjective experience in a black void with an internal voice, providing no evidence of impossible sensory access, specific verifiable details, or external verification. Primary limiting factors are absence of any claims about perceiving real-world events from an impossible perspective and no attempts at corroboration.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Was this Evidence Strength score useful?
Was this Experience Depth score useful?
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Was this Life Impact score useful?
Are you here because someone you love has died?
