The Story
Rick was a correctional officer in Georgia in 1982. He fell 80 feet from a tree stand while hunting and landed on boulders by the river, causing severe injuries. During his NDE, Rick left his body and floated above it, seeing his bleeding form. He rose quickly through the atmosphere, viewed Earth and other planets, then entered a dark tunnel with colorful light streaks leading to a bright light. He arrived at steps to a radiant crystal city. Inside, he saw robed people and met a being with white hair and color-changing eyes who directed him to a hallway. In a dark room, a bright light and figure reviewed his life, showing his birth, actions, and their impacts on others. He saw good deeds like helping a stranded man and regretted his selfishness. The voice told him to return, warned against surgery to avoid permanent paralysis, and showed visions of future wars, disasters, and a peaceful renewal on Earth. Rick re-entered his body with a shock. After the NDE, Rick refused surgery despite paralysis. He heard a voice promising healing and soon felt tingling in his feet. He walked again without surgery, amazing doctors. His life changed; he helped others and pursued a quest for truth.
“Though we never spoke, I knew I was to go down this hallway. Then as if nothing had ever happened, he continued.”
The account describes an OBE observation of the experiencer's own body post-fall and foreknowledge of medical events, but lacks independent verification of specific perceptual details, unpredictable elements beyond expected trauma, or documented timely reporting, limiting evidential strength.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
