Janie Thompson: Mediumship and Spiritual Healing
What Researchers Found
The Story
Jane Thompson, a 34-year-old woman, had her near-death experience on August 22, 2008, due to septic shock from a kidney stone lodged in her ureter. She suffered a 106-degree fever and severe pain in the emergency room after a CAT scan. During the experience, Jane scanned her body internally and realized she was dying peacefully. She left her body and floated to the ceiling, observing the room. She drifted backward, seeing the hospital and souls as connected energy balls. She entered a dark, exhilarating tunnel and emerged into a bright white light that felt loving and healing. Other souls approached, but a voice told her to return. She protested but was sent back through the tunnel into her body. After the NDE, Jane felt detached from her old life. She became an empath and developed mediumship abilities, sensing spirits and emotions. She quit her demanding real estate career, became a hermit, lost relationships, and later trained in energy healing. Now, she offers mediumship readings, energy work, and helps other NDErs.

This account describes a severe medical crisis during septic shock leading to an OBE with an impossible vantage point above the body, but provides no specific details of observed events, people, or objects that could be verified. There are no mentions of verification attempts, confirmed perceptions, or timing of the initial report, limiting its evidential strength significantly.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
