The Story
Terry experienced a near-death event on July 16, 1982, after a car accident with her two young children. She suffered internal bleeding and a ruptured spleen, leading to searing pain and hospitalization in Shelbyville, Tennessee. During the NDE, Terry left her body and looked down on it. She observed her doctor and the resuscitation team, noting every detail. She saw her husband picking up her okay children from a specific house. She moved upward into cloud-like formations, feeling calm and euphoric. She heard beautiful singing and saw new illuminating colors. She entered a white light, lost her sense of body, and reviewed her life quickly without judgment, through loving kindness. A voiceless voice told her she had things to do and must return. She realized love is everything and humans have more than five senses. After the NDE, Terry healed quickly but felt split between worlds. She moved back to Michigan, had a third child, and traveled with students to places like the Amazon and Kenya. She shared her experience, faced a health crisis misdiagnosed as MS but actually hemiplegic migraines, and healed through meditation and Qigong. She integrated her insights, experienced spirit visitations, wrote a book, and became more positive and connected.

The account features a strong doctor-confirmed verification of specific OBE details from an elevated vantage point during a medical crisis with spleen rupture, including team count and conversations. However, evidential strength is limited by delayed reporting three months post-event, lack of documented pre-verification reports, unspecified exact details of verifications, and unverified remote perceptions of husband and children.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
These accounts were gathered because death may not be the end. Thousands of people have experienced something beyond — and come back to tell us about it.
