The Story
Jacob Cooper was a three-year-old boy who had a near-death experience in September 1993. It was caused by suffocating from pertussis, or whooping cough, while on a slide at a park. During the NDE, he left his physical body and saw it lifeless on the ground. He became aware of his spiritual body and a sea of brown and gold angels hovering nearby. His two spiritual guides pushed him down the slide and laid him down. He entered a tunnel to infinite light and the Palace of God. He had a life review of his current life and past incarnations, including one where he took his own life as a teacher. He felt past karmic ties and soul family connections. His guides gave him a choice to return. He saw visions of his future life helping others and chose to come back. After the NDE, Jacob kept the experience secret for 20 years. He became a clinical social worker, Reiki master, and hypnotherapist specializing in past-life regression. He wrote the book Life After Breath and now shares his story to help people overcome fear of death and find spiritual empowerment.
The account describes a severe medical crisis with suffocation and unconsciousness, along with an OBE viewing the body from an impossible vantage, providing some evidential potential. However, lacks specific verifiable details, any attempts at verification, confirmed perceptions, or timely reporting, severely limiting evidential strength.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
