The Story
Bobby Bloom was a 19-year-old Marine who experienced a near-death event after intense cold-water training that caused hypothermia. He went to bed feeling ill and fell through the mattress. His consciousness sped toward a golden pearlescent orb radiating welcoming energy. A presence appeared and told him he was dying. He had to decide whether to enter the light and not return or go back. He tasted his life and found it unfinished. Without a body, he felt completely free of pain for the first time. He heard his own voice say he had too much left to accomplish and intended to return. Rubber bands snapped him back into his body, where pain returned immediately. After the NDE, Bobby felt angry about returning to pain but later had prophetic dreams and visions. This led to spiritual awakenings, leaving the military, and becoming a mentor. He developed tools for inner healing, built faith in guidance, and now helps others transform their lives through perceptual fluidity and self-compassion.
“popping back in and my lips popping back and I slammed back into my body harden”
The NDE involves a subjective internal experience of light, presence, and life review with no claims of veridical perceptions of the physical world or impossible-to-know details. Despite moderate medical severity from hypothermia-induced unconsciousness, the complete absence of external veridical elements limits evidential strength.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
These accounts were gathered because death may not be the end. Thousands of people have experienced something beyond — and come back to tell us about it.
