The Story
William Tortorella, a vendor at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, had a near-death experience in 1994 due to a severe virus that caused him to stop breathing in his hotel room. He left his body and floated above it in a green mist, feeling embraced by love. He entered a tunnel of light and arrived in heaven, where he met his guardian Antonian, deceased brother Peter, and third guardian Auron. Peter guided him through a life review, showing his mistakes and good deeds, like saving a girl as a paramedic, making him feel the emotions involved. In the Hall of Events, he viewed past, present, and future events, including 9/11 and two possible futures for humanity. Angels taught him nine principles of enlightenment, such as not taking life, following intuition, and caring for Earth, plus sacred numbers like 3, 6, 9, and 108. His future daughter told him to return, and he awoke gasping for air. After the NDE, he went to the hospital, learned he had a heart attack, and his daughter was born on June 6, 2000. He wrote a book to share the principles, promoting service, love, and unity to avoid destruction and create a better world.
“wound up being a night of light love I remember actually how I left my body”
This NDE features a medically severe crisis with clinical death indicators (stopped breathing, ECG showing heart attack) and a brief OBE vantage above the body, but contains no specific, verifiable details of real-world perceptions, no attempts to verify such claims, and no corroborated elements, resulting in low evidential strength for veridical perception.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
These accounts were gathered because death may not be the end. Thousands of people have experienced something beyond — and come back to tell us about it.
