The Story
Brandon Denmore was a 32-year-old man struggling with opiate addiction when he experienced a near-death event from a heroin overdose in 2014. His heart stopped, and he left his body. He stood beside his dead body on the couch and contemplated the meaning of his life, including past traumas like molestation, bullying, and addiction. He felt a presence observing him. The presence showed him visions of the joyful future he could have had, including meeting friends, marrying, and having a child, but that it would not happen because he died. He also saw the impact of his death, especially his mother's grief upon finding his body and her memories of raising him. A voice said his life was over and wasted. Brandon pleaded to return and promised to overcome his addiction. He awoke gasping for breath. After the NDE, Brandon quit opiates permanently. He married, had a son, bought a home, and became a spiritual coach. He now lives with purpose, confidence, and helps others find meaning and forgiveness.
