The Story
Victor Hicks, a deputy sheriff and ordained minister, had his first NDE at age 20 during surgery for a chronically infected gland at KU Medical Center. An IV caused severe chest pain, leading him to leave his body. He saw his body on the bed with blue TV light, heard Ted Koppel on Nightline, and knew the host's thoughts. He prayed to God and returned to his body. His second NDE occurred in 2010 during a suicide attempt by taking 500 pills amid stress from divorce, his mother's death, family disputes, high blood pressure, and job pressures. In the ambulance, he left his body. He entered a bright light full of love brighter than 10,000 suns. God said there was no condemnation for him and his life was not his to take. He became one with the light and love, then felt it flow through him like thick liquid. God instructed him to tell others He is a loving Father misrepresented by people. After the NDEs, Hicks became an empath, lost his fear of death, shifted from a judgmental view of religion to emphasizing God's unconditional love, wrote a book titled Crystal Stairway to Heaven, and uses his experiences to counsel youth in juvenile court, helping them find remorse and faith.
