The Story
Randy Calababa, a 63-year-old retired RCMP superintendent, experienced a near-death event on February 7, 2015, due to vasculitis, an autoimmune disease that caused his lungs to fill with blood, enlarged his liver and spleen, filled fluid around his heart, and reduced his kidney function to 8 percent. Doctors said he had three days to live. During the NDE, he saw a small orb of bright light in his chest that expanded to fill the room with white light. He left his body and viewed it on the bed. He felt no pain and experienced unconditional love and peace. He sensed his deceased mother touch his shoulder and assure him everything would be okay. After the NDE, his condition improved rapidly. He spent four days in ICU and five more in the hospital, then entered complete remission. He now bikes 10-12 kilometers daily and lives with purpose. He shifted from self-focus to serving others, donates book proceeds to charity, gives away free books, helps the homeless, and speaks on PTSD and life changes to inspire fulfillment within.
