The Story
The man experienced two NDEs. The first happened at age seven in 1978 due to a severe virus causing dehydration and coma in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. His heart and breathing stopped for five minutes, and CPR revived him. The second occurred at age fourteen at a church camp in northeastern Massachusetts from a head injury caused by bullying. He hit his head on a beam, collapsed, and CPR revived him after his heart and breathing stopped. During the second NDE, he left his body and saw his ethereal form resembling his physical self. He felt lifted to an open place with comforting beings who communicated telepathically. He underwent an interactive life review from others' perspectives, showing how his actions affected them without judgment. He conversed with other recent souls and joined them on a tour through space at immense speeds. They experienced vivid colors, sounds from stars like music, and a profound connection to everything. He felt overwhelming unconditional love. A voice instructed him to return, assuring him he would remember and that death was not to be feared. After the NDEs, his IQ dropped slightly, leading to lethargy, disinterest in school, and deep depression with suicidal thoughts. Bullying worsened his pain. At sixteen, after hospitalization and therapy, he gained focus, a sense of justice, and became an activist against bullying and drunk driving. He developed curiosity about the universe and NDEs, shares his story to help others, and fears death no more. His experiences shaped his passionate life in activism, photography, astronomy, and advocacy.
“i never felt at home in church and even while i was going every sunday for years”
The second NDE account features a single highly specific and unpredictable veridical claim of perceiving a traffic signal not installed until the week after the accident, from an elevated vantage point during unconsciousness, strengthening evidential value despite limited verification details and only one such claim.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
