The Story
Randy Kay, a retired criminal investigator, suffered a severe COVID-19 infection in March 2020. This caused bilateral pneumonia, respiratory failure, a medically induced coma, ECMO support, kidney failure, and a 3% survival chance. During his coma, he had three NDEs. First, he traveled through a tunnel to a magnificent golden hall, was told he did not belong, entered a beautiful city, got lost, climbed a white staircase, and was pulled back. Second, he repeated the tunnel and city, climbed the staircase again, saw a robed man, and returned. Third, in a void with a spirit guide, he saw deceased relatives who turned away, then met a veteran spirit who asked him to tell Madison at the salon her grandfather was okay; the veteran sat on a white porch making flags. Randy later found and delivered the message to Madison, validating it with details. After recovery, Randy lost his fear of death, grew more spiritual, developed a closer relationship with God and family, gained a thirst for knowledge, and began writing a book about his experiences.
“mother mary i have felt god i have felt jesus i have felt dr peebles and they”
The account features an exceptional veridical perception claim where Randy received a specific message from an unknown deceased veteran ('Tell Madison at the salon her grandfather is okay'), including unique details like a white porch and making red-white-blue ribbons/flags for Veteran's Day, which he verified in detail with the granddaughter post-coma. This occurred during a medically induced coma with ECMO, paralysis, and 3% survival odds, rendering ordinary sensory access impossible. Multiple confirming details and prompt reporting to family elevate evidential strength, outweighing lack of pre-verification documentation.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
