Father Rod Walton

The Story
Father Rod Walton was a 29-year-old atheist and book lover in 1975. His experience started after he bought and read a Christian book called 'Exit the Devil' by Reverend Trevor Dearing on a Friday night. He finished most of it and went to sleep around 2 a.m. In the morning, a clear inner voice told him to turn on his radio and change the channel. He did so and heard an announcement that Trevor Dearing would be on at 11 a.m. to answer questions. Shocked, he ran downstairs to tell his parents. This led him to contact Dearing, visit him, and convert to Christianity. For six months, he had many supernatural events. After this, Walton became a priest in the Old Catholic Church. He studied near-death experiences for over 25 years, starting with Raymond Moody's book. When his mother died of cancer in 2002, NDE knowledge helped him through grief. He founded the Bereavement Rescue Center to use NDE evidence to comfort the bereaved, terminally ill, and their families. He co-authored a book on the topic and now runs support groups and plans a center for ongoing help.
“and father who were alive at that time but my mother she said no no no let him”
The account describes a striking synchronicity with a non-audible voice predicting a radio announcement about an obscure author, which was specific, unpredictable, promptly reported to witnesses, and followed by contact verification. However, occurring during normal wakefulness with direct sensory access to the radio undermines its strength as evidence for veridical NDE perception.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
