What Researchers Found
The Story
David Bennett was a chief engineer on the research vessel Aloha and a commercial diver. In 1983, a violent storm off the California coast broke his zodiac boat, and he drowned in the cold ocean waters. During the NDE, he left his body and entered an absolute darkness that felt peaceful with a presence. He saw a pinprick of light and moved toward it, discovering millions of fragments of light moving in unison. He transformed into light and met three beings who welcomed him home; more joined as his soul family. They entered a sphere where he relived his life from multiple perspectives, seeing the impact of his actions and the value of love. He viewed his potential future, understanding free will and his life path. The light told him it was not his time and he had a purpose; he accepted and re-entered his body as it surfaced. He swam to shore with his crew. After the NDE, Bennett saw auras and life energy in people, plants, and Earth. He integrated Native American spirituality, gained acceptance, tolerance, and truth as guiding principles, and shifted to a life of purpose, love, and sharing his story through books and lectures.
