The Near Death Experience of Ms. Heidi Z.

The Story
Heidi was a 12-year-old girl who had a near-death experience after a motorcyclist hit her on the back of her head while she crossed the street to catch the school bus. She lost consciousness immediately. During the experience, she first felt deep silence and darkness. Then she saw her body from above, about 10 yards up, and observed the overturned motorcycle, the motorcyclist in a leather jacket, and her parents arriving at the scene. She felt neutral and safe, like an adult observer. Next, a beautiful light came to her, surrounding and immersing her in peace, warmth, and shelter. She floated upwards to an oval gate in fog and saw three shadowy figures. One invited her to come, but a voice said she was too young, and she was pulled back into her body, feeling cold and dark. After the NDE, Heidi recovered from a severe concussion and bruises after six weeks of bed rest. The experience became a turning point, making her feel lonely and separated from peers because others did not understand. She lost her fear of death and longed for the peace. Recently, she recalled it after her son's friend died and plans to write a book to help other children with similar experiences feel less alone.
“actually i felt safe because i knew what and i was not childlike at that moment”
The account describes an OBE with specific details of the accident scene observed from above during unconsciousness from a head injury, providing moderate perceptual access impossibility and specificity. However, details like the motorcyclist's leather jacket are somewhat predictable, and there is no mention of verification attempts or confirmed accuracies, limiting overall evidential strength.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Was this Evidence Strength score useful?
Was this Experience Depth score useful?
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Was this Life Impact score useful?
Are you here because someone you love has died?
These accounts were gathered because death may not be the end. Thousands of people have experienced something beyond — and come back to tell us about it.
