My Faith Was Erased After NDE | Peter Panagore

The Story
Peter Panagore, an ordained clergy person and experienced climber, had a near-death experience during an ice climb in Banff Provincial Park. Hypothermia struck during the night descent after a slow climb, causing him to collapse. He entered total darkness. A rushing light, an intelligent entity, took him through a wide yet narrow tunnel. He emerged as an expanded orb of consciousness in an illuminated infinite space. He touched a flowing stream of all universal life, which revealed his soul's ancient creation and past lives. A life review made him feel the amplified pain he caused others, but a voice affirmed unconditional divine love. He saw Earth veiled from divine love and his parents' suffering. He chose to return to ease their pain. After the NDE, Peter lost faith and belief, knowing God's existence directly like knowing trees exist. He became unafraid of death, though he initially felt deep longing and depression to return home.
“I carried home to heaven with me all the love that had been given to me and all the love that had been given away, that I gave away as like a treasure.”
This NDE features a severe medical crisis from extreme hypothermia leading to unconsciousness and perceived death, but contains no veridical perception claims whatsoever—no observations of rescuers, medical procedures, hidden details, or unknowable information from the physical world during the experience. All reported perceptions are purely subjective, mystical visions (tunnel, life review, Earth overview) without any specificity, verification, or impossibility of access.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Was this Evidence Strength score useful?
Was this Experience Depth score useful?
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
