A Pilot's Near Death Experience and Heavenly Visit In Heaven!
What Researchers Found
The Story
Captain Dale Black was a 19-year-old pilot in training. His near-death experience happened in 1969 when his plane crashed into a mausoleum at Hollywood Burbank Airport at 135 miles per hour. The plane disintegrated, and he was the only survivor. During the NDE, he left his body and saw three dead pilots, including himself. He realized he was a spirit. He watched paramedics revive him, then re-entered his body and felt pain. He separated again, followed the ambulance to the hospital, and went in and out of his body. He traveled at high speed to heaven, passing bright lights he believed were angels. He arrived in a golden city with a central white light that was God, feeling love, life, and light. An angel stopped him on a stairway, saying he could not go up or return. He met Jesus, knelt at his feet, and felt pure love in his eyes. Jesus whispered words to him. He returned to Earth with fading heavenly music. After the NDE, Black woke up joyous despite broken bones, fuel burns, and eye damage. His vision enhanced to 20/20, allowing a 40-year piloting career. He gained strong faith in God and heaven. He kept the experience secret for 38 years but later shared it in books to help others know Jesus and prepare for eternity.
“the the light was God and I knew it but no one told me but I knew the light was”
The NDE involves clinical death from a plane crash with out-of-body observations of deceased pilots and paramedic resuscitation from an elevated vantage point inaccessible to normal senses. However, perceptions lack high specificity, unpredictability, and verification, consisting mainly of expected emergency procedures, with the full account withheld for nearly 40 years.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
These accounts were gathered because death may not be the end. Thousands of people have experienced something beyond — and come back to tell us about it.
