Krista Gorman: An NDE while giving Birth
What Researchers Found
The Story
Christa Gorman had a near-death experience in 2000 during labor with her daughter. An amniotic fluid embolism caused cardiorespiratory arrest for 8 minutes. She hovered above her body and watched the emergency C-section as particles formed her awareness. She moved through a white space into an all-encompassing love that answered her life's questions with love. She approached a gray light and entered a realm of shadow figures, including a boy, who drained her energy when she tried to help them. She escaped back to the loving space and entered a beautiful Eden with yellow flowers, green hills, trees, and a waterfall. Angelic beings flanked her and offered choices: stay, go beyond, or return. She chose to return and promised to share what she learned. After the NDE, she integrated the experience, wrote the book 'I Died and Learned to Live' with 12 principles, overcame depression and anxiety, and helped her husband transform, living more purposefully and lovingly.
“came back be the love that I felt in the everybody and in order to be that love”
The NDE includes an OBE claim of observing a C-section from above during clinical death, but lacks specific, unpredictable details, any reported verification attempts, or timely pre-verification reporting. Medical severity is high, but perceptual claims are vague, expected events with no evidential corroboration.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
These accounts were gathered because death may not be the end. Thousands of people have experienced something beyond — and come back to tell us about it.
