What Researchers Found
The Story
Jaime G. experienced a near-death experience (NDE) due to complications from a tonsillitis infection that required surgery. After being anesthetized, he found himself floating in darkness and hearing a low hum. He then saw a tunnel with doorways and a pinpoint of light. Moving toward the light, he met his deceased grandmother, who appeared young and invited him to have coffee. They shared a conversation where she reassured him that he was not dead. She told him it was not his time and that he needed to return. After waking up on life support, Jaime felt a new appreciation for life and a connection to his family. He believes the experience was real and it transformed his outlook on life.
