#228 - Mike Dies For 10 Minutes And Has A Very Detailed NDE
What Researchers Found
The Story
Mike Haley, a 45-year-old adventurer and motorcycle rider, suffered a near-death experience after contracting malaria in Uganda while building a school. Back in California for work, he developed influenza B, leading to pneumonia, acute respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, and MRSA. He died for 10 minutes and entered a 16-day coma. During the NDE, Mike entered a dark void without time or space, where his hand passed through his body. A voice said, 'No, you're not dead. We don't die.' He faced horrific scenarios of chases and bad deals, then rejected a tempting offer at a mansion table three times, revealing a dark entity that transformed him into objects like a tree and staircase. A child appeared and touched him. Mike then merged into pure unconditional love and oneness. He defeated the entity by believing it had no power. Feminine entities offered return to the love, but he chose to come back for his family. After recovery, Mike views all life experiences as gifts, knows death is not the end, and continues processing through writing.
“I just felt love like I just became love you know I don't know my psyche or my my”
No veridical perception claims are present; the NDE consists entirely of internal visionary experiences (nightmarish scenarios, encounters with entities, oneness/love) without any reports of observing or hearing specific, impossible-to-access physical details during unconsciousness. Medical severity is high, but lack of any corroborated external perceptions limits evidential strength.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
Score reflects transformation as described. Domains scored 0 indicate the topic was not discussed, not that no change occurred.
Are you here because someone you love has died?
These accounts were gathered because death may not be the end. Thousands of people have experienced something beyond — and come back to tell us about it.
