Barbara Bartolome had a near-death experience at age 31 in Santa Barbara, California. It occurred during a myelogram procedure before back surgery. An X-ray technician pushed the wrong button on the machine, which sent iodine dye from her neck into her brain. This caused her heart to stop. She rose out of her body and floated near the ceiling. She watched the medical team call a code blue, perform CPR, and bring in oxygen and a heart monitor. She saw her heart flatline. A presence she felt was God stood with her. She asked to return to protect her infant daughter and young son from her abusive husband. Flashes of abuse incidents played before her. She promised to leave the marriage if allowed back. Right after, a doctor's fist strike to her chest brought her back into her body. After the NDE, Barbara left her abusive husband.
